Where we work
The chapter is the fundamental unit of participation and organization of Los Pipitos, which is formed by the affiliation of at least 50 families in one municipality. The highest authority of the chapter is the assembly of members, that every three years elects a municipal board of directors. The municipal board organizes committees by areas of work: health, education, sports, arts, labor integration and gender, according to the needs and characteristics of each chapter. Furthermore they organize committees according to the type of disability of their children, to incorporate the families in the process of rehabilitation and social integration and for the search for alternative solutions for the fulfillment of the rights of children and youth with disabilities in Nicaragua. Los Pipitos is currently organized in 85 chapters in equal number of municipalities throughout the country.
